How has common ownership affected Long Island’s AC stations?

In late June of 2014, a 3-way deal was announced in which Clear Channel, who rebranded as iHeart Media shortly after this deal closed, would aquire 39 stations from Qantum Communications in exchange for WALK-AM and WALK-FM on Long Island. Those stations would then be sold as part of this same deal to Connoisseur Media. As Connoisseur already owned WKJY in the market, I figured some changes were in order, so I was on a pretty tight deadline to get that aircheck recorded. The result is the aircheck that is scheduled to be posted in 3 weeks. Today we hear an aircheck that I recorded 10 days ago as part of the comparison of the two stations a year later as well as recording the other WKJY aircheck to be posted soon. It’s also purely coincidental that next week’s aircheck will be of another station involved in this deal. Interestingly, if not for having received the WNCI aircheck to be posted in two weeks in a trade over the summer, and the impending flip of WRDW in Philidelphia, this entire east coast swing would be about the above mentioned deal.
